
Offers students an opportunity to utilize project management methodologies, principles, and tools acquired in the master’s program to develop a tailored project plan addressing the complete project life cycle. This course is intended to be the final course in the project management program.
Program Learning Outcomes
At the end of the MS in Project Management program, students will have the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to:
- PLO1: Assess significant challenges involved in managing project scope, risk, quality, schedule, budget, and performance metrics, while effectively communicating with different project stakeholders.
- PLO2: Reflect upon your own cognitive abilities and personal and professional effectiveness competencies that are critical to effectively administer and direct a project in a changing and evolving environment.
- PLO3: Design an effective project plan for leading and managing the implementation of a complex project to meet business goals in a real-world setting, while avoiding common project management pitfalls.
- PLO4: Develop a position on an ethical issue or dilemma that relates to ethical behavior governed by responsibility, respect, fairness, and honesty in the practice of project management.
Course Learning Outcomes
Based on satisfactory completion of this course, a student should be able to:
- Create and maintain a Stakeholder Register, making adjustments to reflect all aspects of the plan.
- Devise and then progressively elaborate the project scope, resources, activities, and schedule.
- Construct Quality and Communication plans and integrate these with project activities and budget.
- Create and maintain a Risk Register and contingency reserve for risks.
- Construct a plan for Integrated Change Control and integrate this with project activities, schedule, and quality plans.
- Devise a plan for closing processes and integrate these with project resources, activities, and schedule.
- Integrate all processes and knowledge areas throughout the integrated project plan.
- Construct an ethics policy for a project.
- Reflect on, generalize, and apply learnings throughout the entire program to one’s professional career.
- Examine a global ethical situation, determine its significance, and recommend actions.
